Connecting the Colombian diaspora in British Columbia through soccer, culture, music, and active citizenship in public spaces.
Leaving our homeland is never easy. The cold Vancouver winters and distance often weigh heavily. But when we put on the yellow tricolor jersey, we find a shared shield of identity. La Chiva was born to bridge that gap, transforming casual gatherings of friends into peaceful civic mobilizations of over 3,000 people celebrating in public spaces.
We convert sporting passion into positive civic action and order for Canadian society.
Mutual support networks for newcomers to mitigate social isolation and foster brotherhood in BC.
Folklore embassies, traditional acoustic music (the murga), and Colombian joy shared openly with Canada.
Respecting public space. We deploy volunteer cleanup brigades immediately after every gathering.
